The Evocative Object: why objects matter is an exhibition based upon the idea that objects matter to us – but what makes an object evocative may not necessarily be about value, use, aesthetics or ownership. This is a discussion about how objects participate in the way we live out our lives: as enrichments to our interiors, as aids to remembering personal histories, provocations for intellectual
thinking, signals to who we are as people, and in essence, how they help us locate ourselves within the world.
